Jeremiah was born on a farm in Northern Missourian and a graduate of Linn State Community College. He majored in Construction Management with a minor in Business with an emphasis on Marketing and Sales. After he graduated, Jeremiah began constructing and managing golf courses on the west coast, then married his high school sweetheart and now have two beautiful children.

Kelly Limestone LLC continues the tradition of producing quality calcium products that Kelly Lime & Rock Co., Inc. started in 1959. Richard B. Kelly and Cora C. Kelly founded the company in August of 1959. They produced agricultural lime and aggregate stone for construction. Richard B. Kelly, a WW II vet, understood the use of agricultural lime in his father’s farming business. Due to the decreased demand in agricultural limestone sales on a local basis, agricultural lime demands fell drastically in the mid 1980’s when CRP came into play and many acres were taken out of production. This led to expansion into different markets of limestone sales. Richard Kelly had the insight to build a pelletizing plant to produce a number of different calcium related products. This project was expensive, time consuming and not profitable at the time. It did pay off over time and has allowed Kelly’s to develop business nationally and internationally.
On December 31, 2002, Douglas Kelly and Theresa Kelly purchased the assets of Kelly Lime & Rock Co., Inc. and formed Kelly Limestone LLC, which has carried on the tradition of producing quality calcium products. Doug & Traci Kelly are both graduates from the University of Missouri- Columbia with Bachelor degrees.
Spending almost 20 years on the road with the business, Doug has had the opportunity to expand the product line and work with many professional blenders, manufacturers, distributors and end users. With the insight of knowledge obtained from the market, Kelly’s have had the opportunity to produce a number of different calcium related products.
In early 2011, Kelly Limestone LLC will have completed a plant expansion to improve quality and flexibility of manufacturing in order to be able to custom pelletize other products for other manufacturers and blenders.
In the past 20 years of servicing the pelletized business, Kelly’s is honored to have had the opportunity to work with many superintendents, growers, farmers and horticulturalists and developing programs to meet their calcium requirements. While working for a local Toro distributor, John Humphrey, CEO, realized golf course greens rolling is a logical agronomic practice that he could sell. In 1984 Humphrey went out on his own under the name of Turfline, Inc. as a turf distributor working out of his home while developing the idea for the world’s first vibratory greens roller that would attach directly to a triplex greens mower.

WLS specializes in quality lawn seed and turf care products. We offer certified & sod blends, small retail & bulk packaging, prompt delivery, and quality service. We serve athletic fields, sod producers, golf courses, retail stores, landscape contractors, and the professional lawn care industry.
Our founder, Garvin R. Williams (1913-2003) began in the lawn seed business by swinging a hand bluegrass stripper at the age of 17 years, and selling the seed at $0.04 per pound. In 1930 he became a bluegrass entrepreneur. During a 10 day summer harvesting period at Coffey, Missouri he purchased 20,000 pounds of hand-stripped seed that had been done by other men, women, and children. A hand-stripper that had been used, along with a write-up of that story, can be found at the National Agriculture Hall of Fame at Bonner Springs, Kansas.
Methods of seed gatherings gradually changed. The yields in harvest fields began to decrease in the four Midwestern states. Now, most lawn grass seed is grown in Oregon, Washingtion, and Idaho, according to varying needs in different areas. WLS sells this seed to golf courses, sod farms, nurseries, and retail stores.
WLS has supplied grass seed to golf course played during the PGA tours, professional and college football stadiums, as well as prominent retail stores located throughout the Midwest. Mr. Williams' son, Leon, along with his partner, Steven Tubbs, are the current owners of Williams Lawn Seed.
