For over 42 years, Green Carpet Sod has been supplying the Sheridan, Buffalo and Gillette area with quality Kentucky bluegrass sod.
Our sod is a hybrid of Kentucky bluegrass that we are consistently improving and making sure that it will grow in our climate.
The sod you purchase from us is a specially-selected hybrid that does well in our area. The rhizome root structure allows it to spread easily and repair itself as your lawn grows.
We offer our sod both in a wholesale and retail environment to supply a wide range of customers, and we offer delivery. We do ask that you keep in mind that there will be a pallet deposit charged for each sale.
When determining how much sod you need, keep in mind that we sell by the square foot. Our sod is a four-way blend. To calculate the area needed, it may be easier to break your lawn up into smaller units like squares, circles, or triangles. Rectangles should also be included as a way to break the lawn up into smaller units.
Feagler Farms, Inc. was incorporated in 1975 as an irrigated 1500 acre farming and livestock operation raising a diverse rotation that included sugar beets, corn, edible beans, small gains, and alfalfa. In 1979, a neighbor (David and Jean Kellam) planted what was then an experimental new crop. this new crop was turf grass. We watched them develop and incerase acerage to 35 acres over time. In 1999 the Kellams decided to retire and wanted to find someone who would not only purchase their business, but take the torch and give this enterprise the TLC it deserved.
In 1999 Feagler Farms Inc, headed by Steve Feagler, decided to purchase the Kellam’s business to diversify the farm. Torrington Sod Farms was formed to be the specialty arm that produces and markest turf grass. One of the first orders of business was to join TPI (Turfgrass Producers International) in order to broaden our knowledge base and networking within the turf industry. Under of the direction of Mark Feagler (the next generation), Torrington Sod Farms has now expanded to 155 acres. TSF covers a wide geographical area and has installed soccer and baseball complexes as well as large commercial projects.
