StoneCrest Golf Course is a unique facility owned and operated by the City of Prestonsburg, located in Southeastern Kentucky. The course inhabits 700 acres of mountain top land. It offers amenities such as a pro shop, club repairs, practice green, driving range, clubhouse and lounge.
StoneCrest was built on a reclaimed strip mine and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The championship layout plays to a par 72 and it is over 7,000 yards long from the black tees. With four sets of tee boxes, the course is playable by golfers of all skill levels. Opened for play in 2011 the course is already recognized as one of the finest in Kentucky and it has hosted both the Men's and Women's State Amateur Championships in its brief history.

Valhalla Golf Club's front nine traverses a low-flying parkland setting where 650,000 cubic yards of earth were moved to build up tees, greens and fairways to a level that would protect the course from major storm damage. Valhalla's greens, tees and fairways are a combinaton of T1 and Penway bent grass strains. Overall, there are 62 sand bunkers strategically positioned throughout the course. Valhalla Golf Club's slick greens feature distinct tiers and sections that provide a variety of challenging hole locations. The primary rough is Kentucky bluegrass with fesque making up the secondary rough. The incoming nine holes were carved out of higher, tree-covered terrain with a shallow creek that would come into play on four holes.
