Deerfield Golf Course is an extraordinary 145-acre natural treasure that is a unique resource for residents and businesses in Delaware. Visitors from neighboring state also find it worth the short drive. The golf course is an outstanding 18-hole championship course and it also offers paddleball courts, public dining and it is one of Delaware's premier wedding, meeting, golf outing and special event venue.

It was originally built by the DuPont Corporation for its employees in 1955, the club was called Louviers Country Club. In 1994 MBNA Purchases the club from DuPont and built the new clubhouse ballroom and recreational building, renaming it Deerfield. In 2005 the state if Delaware acquired the 145-acre property to protect the land from development. The club is part of Delaware's White Clay Creek State Park supervised by the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation. In February 2006 the Division of Parks and Recreation retained Forewinds Hospitality to manage the property. Deerfield Golf Club was opened to the public for the first in 51 years on April 14,2006.
