Baker’s Power & Turf

Baker's Power & Turf is a division of Baker's Hardware CO INC., which was started in 1962 by brother Vernon & Leon Baker at its current location in Millsboro. Originally the building was shared with Art's TV, however a few years later that business closed and Vernon assumed full ownership. Throughout the coming years the hardware store business grew, expanded several times, and became known throughout the region as a destination for customer service and product selection. In 1978 Baker's entered the power equipment business selling small riding and walk mowers, Homelite chainsaws, and Yazoo mowers. The business entered the 1990's with a second family generation ownership in place with Bob & Teresa (Baker) Ricker. A second Hardware store in Long Neck DE was opened, and then in 2000 a third location in Georgetown DE. The Georgetown location was closed a year later to focus on the Millsboro location, where the Power & Turf division grew by leaps and bounds. And today is know as the Mid-Atlantics fastest growing outdoor power equipment dealership. In 2009 Baker's became one of the country's top 10 Husqvarna dealerships.
