Apgar Turf Farm, Inc. has evolved from a lawn care business founded by Arnold A. Apgar in 1976, and grew with a 7 acre field initiated by his son, John H. Apgar. John graduated from the University of Delaware in 1978 from the College of Agriculture with a degree in plant science, landscape and turf management. This family run business now has three generations working side by side. So you can be sure that we know grass!<\/p>\n
The business has grown to where we are producing approximately 100 acres of sod. The business was established because there was a need for quality sod that was not being met, so we decided to grow our own. We are members of Turf Producers International, as well as the Delaware Nursery and Landscape Association. We are also proud members of the National Federation of Independent Business.<\/p>\n
