President Tony Huerta has been in the landscape business for over 25 years, and incorporated Down To Earth in 1989 with our corporate headquarters located in Mount Dora, Florida. In 1998 we opened our North Florida operation in Jacksonville. Since inception, our company has completed projects ranging from small residential to 5 million dollar commercial projects.

Michael Mosler Sr., Senior Partner, handles daily operations and production for Central Florida. Mike’s 25 years of experience in this field has developed a hands-on type of person who takes great pride in the finished product we deliver to our customers. Mike’s tremendous organizational skills and desire to serve allow us to complete our projects in a timely and professional fashion.

Sanders Golf is a Golf Course Construction, landscape, and Irrigation company which, since it’s inception in 1985, has maintained a tradition of excellence in products and services developed over three generations. This vast experience has been instrumental in keeping us in tune with the latest technology in every facet of the landscape construction industry. Our projects range from landscaping and irrigating apartment complexes, hospitals, major highways, state parks, and universities, to the renovation, and complete construction of sports fields, and golf courses where major sporting events, as well as Major Tournaments are played annually.

Rob Sanders and his brothers, Cole and Earl, were born into the landscape construction industry, and grew up working on projects for their father, Joe N Sanders Jr. Like his sons, Joe was also raised in the industry, and worked with his brothers at Sanders Brothers Nursery, a company founded by his father in the 1930’s. Joe Sanders Jr. received his Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia in 1956, is a past member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and was granted his national registration with the Council of Landscape Architecture Registration Board.

Turf Tamers established roots in 1999, while owner-operator Mike Svaleson attended middle school in Fargo, ND. The company began with one push mower, a weed eater, and a dolly cart for hauling clippings. He serviced a number of customers in the immediate area of the Svaleson family home. When Svaleson turned 16, he received a drivers license which opened a whole new set of doors! Now able to expand out of walking distance from the family home in South Fargo, he was able to establish customers throughout Fargo-Moorhead.

Since 2006, Turf Tamers has expanded into a full service lawn care, landscaping and snow removal company. In 2011, Svaleson purchased H20 Sprinkler Systems and our lawn care service abilities grew exponentially. Turf Tamers has also expanded in to dirt work, grading, and landscape design. When asked about his successful business, Svaleson states, “I love my job because I get to be outside every day and work hard to improve every one of my customer’s properties. I strive for compliments and the satisfaction of leaving a property in much better shape then before we started the job!”

The company started in 1921 as a manufacturer of horse drawn road maintainers. The original York Power Stone Rake had the unique feature of a rake to finish off the road surface. It is this unique feature that has made the term York Rake synonymous with landscape rakes the world over -- after all: We invented it!

For over 90 years, York Rakes has been the innovative leader in this field. We were the first to add caster wheels to our units to regulate the working depth. Drawing from our maintainer expertise, we added scarifiers to our units to loosen up the soil before raking, saving the operator the need for extra pieces of equipment. The addition of a fold-down grader blade completes the transformation of the York Rake into a complete landscaping system, virtually eliminating the need for additional pieces of equipment.

Our units remain the "Swiss Army Knives" of the industry. Our line starts with a 4-foot wide tow type unit, something a homeowner might buy or rent for driveway and yard work. The line concludes with a 12-foot wide tow type unit that a municipality would use for road maintenance. In between, we build rakes to mount on just about anything, including skid steer loaders.
